Report for August 1, 2014 - August 31, 2014
Sometime between 8/30 at 2145 hours and 8/31 at 0751 hours, an unknown suspect(s) smashed the window of the victim?s vehicle and took miscellaneous property without permission. The estimated loss of property and cost to repair the window is approximately $950. There is no suspect information at this time. Case suspended pending further leads. Report #14-0831-0001.
Unauthorized Use of Access Card
On 8/30 the victim lost his credit card and a short time later the card was used without permission at several locations in Brisbane and San Francisco. This case is ongoing. Report #14-0831-0002.
On 8/30 at 0125 hours, officers responded to a call of an overturned vehicle. Upon arrival it was determined that it was a solo vehicle collision with no injuries. It was also determined that the driver of the vehicle was driving under the influence and the driver was 17 years old. The driver was taken into custody and transported to Hillcrest Juvenile Facility. Report #14-0830-0001.
Sometime between 8/29 at 2100 hours and 8/31 at 0900 hours, an unknown suspect entered the victim?s unlocked vehicle and took 2 pairs of sunglasses and a hat. The estimated value of the property taken is $460. There is no suspect information at this time. Case suspended pending further leads. Report #14-0830-0002.
On 8/30 officers responded to a threats call that occurred on 8/24. The victim stated the known suspect told the victim she had just slit her own throat. The victim felt threatened by this and advised police. The suspect who was already in custody for an unrelated charge was advised of the new charges. Case closed by arrest. Report #14-0830-0003.
On 8/30 at approximately 0630 hours, an unknown suspect rummaged through the victims vehicle through a window left rolled down. The suspect(s) took a pocket knife valued at $20. The victim heard the car alarm sounding, turned off the alarm but saw no one in the area. Case suspended pending further leads. Report #14-0830-0004.
On 8/30 at 2043 hours an officer received a complaint of a fire in a fire pit on a windy night. Upon arrival the officer noticed a large bon fire and a group of people around it. The Brisbane Fire Department was called to extinguish the fire and the responsible party was given an Administrative Citation. Report #14-0830-0005.
Sometime between 8/26 at 2000 hours and 8/27 at 0900 hours, an unknown suspect entered an unlocked vehicle and removed $20 and vehicle registration without permission. The registration was later found at the community park. There is no suspect information at this time. Case suspended pending further leads or suspect information. Report #14-0827-0001.
On 8/27 at 1137 hours, an officer contacted a subject known to have a no bail warrant. The warrant was confirmed and the subject was taken into custody without incident. Case closed by arrest. Report #14-0827-0002.
Sometime between 10/13 and 8/14, an unknown(s) suspect cut a link in a chain and entered the lot without permission. While in the lot the unknown suspect(s) took a metal recycling container. There is no suspect (s) information at this time. Case suspended pending further leads or suspect information. Report #14-0826-0003.
On 8/26 at 1722 hours, a subject swung at the victim and threw an object at their face. When the subject was contacted by police he resisted the officers and was arrested for assault and battery, challenging to a fight and resisting. Case closed by arrest. Report #14-0826-0004.
On 8/26 at 1126 hours, Officers responded to a call of a collision with injuries. Upon arrival it was determined that while parking a vehicle the driver hit the accelerator instead of the gas pedal. When this occurred the vehicle struck a pedestrian causing minor injuries. The vehicle continued forward striking a window to a business. Case closed. Report #14-0826-0001.
On 8/26 at 1145 hours, three unknown suspects took 4 tire rims without permission. The rims had been left unsecured in a driveway for over a month. The cost to replace the rims is approximately $600. A photo of the vehicle leaving the scene was taken and has been distributed to local police agencies. Case suspended pending further suspect information. Report 314-0826-0002.
On 8/25 at 1009 hours, Officers responded to a vandalism call. After investigation, it was determined the occupant of the trailer had started a fire in the trailer and had tampered with the fuse box. The occupant failed to make the proper notification. The manager was then notified. Report #14-0825-0001.
On 8/16 at 1715 hours, an unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked vehicle and took approximately $10 in quarters. There is no suspect information at this time. Case suspended pending further leads or suspect information. Report #14-0825-0002.
On 8/24 at 1213 hours, officers were contacted by a parent that her juvenile daughter was violating her probation. The juvenile was later located by police and transported to Youth Service Center. Case closed. Report #14-0824-0001.
On 8/22 at 2100 hours and 8/23 at 1000 hours and unknown suspect(s) willfully set fire to miscellaneous items dumped on the road. No structures were damaged and it is unknown who the property belonged to. There is no suspect information at this time. Case suspended pending further leads or suspect information. An officer received a complaint about an abandoned vehicle. Upon running a records check it was revealed the vehicle?s registration was past due by 10 months. Vehicle was towed for violating Vehicle Code Section 22651(o)(1), vehicle expired over six months. Report #14-0822-0003.
Suspended Driver?s License
On 8/9 at 1830 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop. Upon investigation it was revealed that the driver was driving on a suspended driver?s license. The driver was cited and released from the scene. Report #14-0822-0001.
Between 4/3/14 and 8/8/14 the reporting parties were advised by their bank that they were victims of identity theft. The bank advised the victims to file a police report. The victim?s information was used in Michigan, Tennessee and Florida. This case is being forwarded to 7 outside agencies for follow up. Report #14-0821-0001.
On 8/20 sometime between 0400 and 0730 hours, an unknown suspect(s) vandalized the victim?s vehicle by damaging all four of his tires. There no suspect information at this time. Case suspended pending further leads. Report #14-0820-0001.
On 8/19 at 1022 hours, a subject came to the Brisbane Police Department to pick up property. The officer on duty had prior knowledge of a misdemeanor warrant for the subject. The warrant was confirmed and the subject was issued a citation and released from the scene. Case closed. Report 314-0819-0001.
On 8/19 sometime between 2400 and 0215 hours, an unknown suspect(s) entered two unlocked vehicles and took the vehicle registration, insurance paperwork and jumper cables. The suspect(s) also rummaged through a third unlocked vehicle on the 200 block of Klamath. The suspect(s) took a GPS device and miscellaneous change. There is no suspect information at this time. On 8/17 at 1400 hours, a husband and wife were involved in argument that became physical. One party spoke with a counselor and the other party spoke with a priest. There were no injuries to either party and the primary aggressor could not be determined. Neither party wanted any further assistance. Case taken. Report #14-0817-0002.
Sometime between 8/15 and 8/16, an unknown suspect(s) defaced the Tunnel Bridge with graffiti. There is no suspect information at this time. Case suspended pending further leads or suspect information. Report #14-0816-0001.
An officer marked an abandoned vehicle on 8/8. A warning sticker was placed on the vehicle indicating it was subject to tow if not moved in 72 hours. The vehicle was still at the same location on 8/15 after having not been moved during the listed period. The vehicle was towed per 22651(k) CVC; 72 hour abandoned vehicle. Report #14-0815-0001.
On 8/15 at 1633 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop. During a records check the driver was found to have several out of county warrants. The driver was taken into custody and transported to the San Mateo County Jail. Case closed by arrest. Report #14-0815-0002.
Possession/Under the Influence
On 8/12 at 1531 hours, an officer contacted a subject known to be on parole. The subject was searched and found to be in possession of a controlled substance. After a series of tests, the subject was also found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. The subject was taken into custody and transported to the San Mateo County Jail. Case closed by arrest. Report #14-0812-0001.
On 8/11 a business was contacted and found to not have paid their annual business license tax. After the initial contact, the business owners paid for the business license. Case taken for information at this time. Report #14-0811-0003.
An officer cited a dog owner for not having his dog on a leash. An Administration Citation was issued. Report #14-0811-0006.
Sometime between 8/9 at 1500 hours and 8/11 at 0800 hours, an unknown suspect(s) took two car batteries without permission. The suspect(s) entered a parking lot, removed the safety latches on the batteries and the batteries. There is no suspect information at this time. The cost to replace the batteries is approximately $500. Case suspended pending further leads. Report #14-0811-0001.
Sometime between 8/9 and 8/11 and unknown suspect(s) took $49 from an unlocked cash drawer. There is no suspect information at this time. Case suspended pending further leads or suspect information. Report #14-0811-0005.
Trespassing/Resist Arrest
On 8/11 at 1636 hours, an officer contacted a subject on private property known for graffiti. The subject looked at the officer and ran. The officer told the subject to stop and the subject continued to run. The subject fell and the officer was able to take the subject into custody. Case closed by arrest. Report #14-0811-0004.
An officer cited a dog owner for not having his dog on a leash. An Administration Citation was issued. Report #14-0810-0002.
Driving Under the Influence
On 8/10 at 0235 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation. Upon investigation the driver was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. Driver arrested case closed. Report #14-0810-0001.
On 8/10 at 1047 hours, a wallet found in Burlingame was turned into the Brisbane Police Department. The owner of the wallet was contacted and stated he would be coming by the police station to pick up his wallet. Case closed. Report #14-0810-0003.
On 8/9 at 0834 hours, an officer responded to a blocked driveway call. A records check of the license plate showed the vehicle was registered out of South San Francisco. A neighborhood check was conducted to find the owner of the vehicle, but the owner could not be found. The vehicle was towed per Vehicle Code section 22651(d) Blocked Driveway. Case closed. Suspended Driver?s License
On 8/9 at 1830 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop. Upon investigation it was revealed that the driver was driving on a suspended driver?s license. The driver was cited and released from the scene. Report #14-0809-0002.
On 8/7 at 0445 hours, an officer located an unoccupied vehicle that had struck a light pole. An area check was conducted but the driver was not found. The registered owner was contacted who stated the car had been sold but had no further info. The vehicle was towed from the scene. Report #14-0807-0001.
On 8/6 at approximately 0430 hours, an unknown suspect took the victim?s vehicle without permission. The vehicle was parked across from the victim?s home when it was taken. A suspicious vehicle and occupants were seen leaving the area. There is no further suspect information at this time. Case suspended pending further leads. Report #14-0806-0001.
Sometime between 8/2 and 8/3, and unknown suspect(s) entered a locked area and took 30 cartons of cigarettes estimated at $2000. The owner suspects an employee is responsible but would not let officers speak to any employees. This case has been suspended pending further leads. Report #14-086-0002.
Child Protective Services
On 8/5 at 1107 hours, officers responded to a medical call of a 6 year old child who had sprayed himself with pepper spray. The pepper spray was located on a set of keys that the child was able to reach. Child Protective Services was contacted and the report will be forwarded to them for review. Report #14-0805-0001.
Sometime between 7/31 and /8/1, the victims vehicle was vandalized with spray paint. The logo of the vehicle was spray painted over causing minor damage. There is no suspect information at this time. Case suspended pending further leads or suspect information. Report #14-0805-0002.
On 8/5 at 1651 hours, an officer located an unoccupied stolen travel trailer. The owner was contacted and stated the trailer was taken several years ago and did not want any further police action taken and did not want the trailer back. The trailer was towed from the scene. Report #14-0805-0003.
On 8/4 an officer responded to an identity theft call. The victim reported she had been a victim back in 2004 and was now receiving calls from a collection agency for a Comcast bill she did not authorize. A report was taken and faxed to the collection agency for validation. Case suspended pending further leads. Report #14-0804-0001.
On 8/2 sometime between 1945 hours and 2115 hours, an unknown suspect(s) smashed the window of a rented vehicle and took the victims property without permission. All the items were in a backpack in the backseat of the vehicle. The backpack contained a laptop, flash drives, a camera and batteries. The total amount for the property taken is approximately $1350. There is no suspect information at this time. Case suspended pending further leads. Report #14-0803-0001.
Sometime between 8/2 at 2200 hours and 8/3 at 0745 hours, an unknown suspect took the victim?s vehicle without permission. The vehicle was parked in front of the victim?s home when it was taken. This case has been suspended pending further suspect information. Report #14-0803-0002.
On 8/2 at 1725 hours, an officer responded to a hotel room where the prior guests may have been imprinting fraudulent credit cards. Numerous credit cards, receipts and a tool were taken as evidence. This is an ongoing investigation. Report #14-0802-0001.
On 8/1 between 0150 and 0155 hours, an unknown suspect took the victims vehicle without permission. An officer responded to a call of a stolen vehicle. The registered owner stated he had lost his keys just prior to his vehicle being taken. The vehicle was later located by BART PD. There is no suspect information at this time. Report #14-0801-0001.
On 8/1 at 0900 hours, a resident found a student ID card, credit card and some business cards near her home. The resident turned these items into the police and an attempt to locate the owner was met with negative results. A letter has been sent to the property owner and the property was booked into safe keeping. Report #14-0801-0002.
On 8/1 at 1539 hours, the reporting party advised officers that she was concerned about some emails she had received from an old classmate. As emails were exchanged the classmate eventually accused the reporting party of stealing her writing while in school. The reporting party stated she thinks the classmate is ?delusional and mentally unstable? and requested that a police report be taken for informational purposes. The classmate was contacted and denied accusing the reporting party and stated it was someone else. Case taken for information only. Report #14-0801-0003.
