Embezzlement
Forgery Credit Card Fraud The reporting party advised that his company had been the victim of embezzlement by a former employee. An investigation revealed that between 07/01/09 and 07/24/11, the suspect embezzled approximately $93,549 from the company; the suspect wrote six fraudulent company checks and she made approximately 705 fraudulent purchases on two separate company credit cards. A search warrant was later served at the suspect?s home. At that time the suspect confessed to the crimes and evidence of the crimes was located and collected. The suspect was arrested and was transported and booked into the San Mateo County Jail. Case closed. Report # 11-0802-0003.

Theft / Resisting Arrest
Possess Burg. tools Officers responded to the report of a subject who was climbing the fence of a closed business. Once on company property the subject cut copper wiring that belonged to the business. He fled the scene as officers arrived. The subject subsequently resisted arrest by running from responding officers. The subject was eventually located by officers and placed under arrest. A records check revealed that the subject was on active CDC parole; he was placed on a parole hold. The subject was transported and booked into the San Mateo County Jail. Case closed. Burglary
The reporting party advised that on 08/26/11 at approximately 2300 hours, she was at home alone when she heard noises coming from another portion of the home. She yelled out ?hello? and she heard additional scuffling noises. It was later discovered that she had interrupted a burglary. The suspect(s) were able to take a stereo system; the approximate loss was $350. This investigation is on-going. Report # 11-0827-0001.

Warrant Arrest
An Officer contacted a subject during the course of a disturbance. A records check revealed that the subject had two outstanding warrants for his arrest. The warrants were confirmed and the subject was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail. Case closed. Report # 11-0825-0001.

Resisting Arrest
An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle whose driver had committed a vehicle code violation. The driver attempted to flee the traffic stop by exiting his vehicle and walking away from the officer. The officer attempted several times to verbally gain compliance from the subject. The subject refused to cooperate with the officer?s commands and continued to walk away from the officer. The officer grabbed the subject by the arm to keep him from fleeing. The subject reacted violently and fought with the officer. Other officers made an emergency response and the subject was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail. Case closed. Assault w. a Deadly Weapon
Criminal Threats Assault and Battery An officer responded to the report of a physical fight with a knife involved. When the officer arrived both parties were still on scene. It was determined that one subject assaulted another over a dispute of who was first in a check-out line. The suspect thrust a knife and held it at the throat of the other customer while making threats to his life. Employees were able to wrestle the knife away; however, the suspect continued to attack the other customer and used his fists to strike him several times in the face. Employees were finally able to break up the fight. The suspect was contacted by the officer and placed under arrest; he was transported and booked into the San Mateo County Jail. Case closed. Public Intoxication
Resisting Arrest An officer contacted a juvenile subject who had been creating a disturbance in the area. Upon contact the juvenile became belligerent and uncooperative. The officer ascertained that the juvenile was intoxicated and unable to care for his own safety. The officer attempted to take the juvenile into custody and the juvenile resisted arrest. The juvenile was ultimately detained and placed under arrest. The juvenile was cleared at a medical facility prior to being booked into the Hillcrest Juvenile Facility. Case closed. Officers discovered that the subject had a severe medical condition. An attempt was made to have the subject medically cleared prior to booking. Stolen Vehicle
The reporting party advised that an unknown subject took away his vehicle without permission from his place of business. A witness later came forward and provided suspect information and the location of the stolen vehicle. Officers responded and recovered the stolen vehicle. Based on the information that the witness provided, positive identification was obtained for the suspect. Further investigation revealed that the suspect was wanted out of SFPD for unrelated crimes. A search was conducted for the suspect with negative results. This case was forwarded to the San Mateo County District Attorney?s Office for review and for the issuance of an arrest warrant. Fatal Boating Collision
On 08/03/11 at approximately 1700 hours, Officers responded to the report of a fatal boating collision; the initial incident occurred at approximately 1210 hours (Brisbane PD was notified of the collision, which occurred in Brisbane jurisdictional waters, approximately five hours after the collision had taken place). Officers learned that a 41 foot boat collided with a 19 foot boat causing the smaller boat to capsize. One of the passengers on the smaller boat became trapped under the boat and the passenger ultimately died as a result of the collision. An extensive investigation was conducted; there was not sufficient probable cause developed to charge any of the parties with a crime.
